Climate in Cyprus

Summer in Cyprus

Summers in Cyprus are hot and predominantly dry, with July and August generally being the hottest months.

Autumn in Cyprus

The heat gradually becomes less intense during October, while conditions for spending time by the sea often remain comfortable. By November, the weather becomes more changeable and rainfall becomes more likely.

Because the Mediterranean Sea cools gradually, warm conditions along the coast tend to continue later into the year than in many other European destinations.

Winter in Cyprus

Winters on the Cyprus coast are mild compared with many parts of Europe, although this is the coolest and wettest period of the year.

Conditions can change quickly, with sunny and relatively warm days alternating with rain, wind, and cooler periods. Night-time temperatures are noticeably lower than daytime temperatures.

The Troodos Mountains are considerably cooler than the coast, and snow is possible at higher elevations during winter.
